Exodus – Bible Overview

Holy BibleExodus was written by Moses around 1446 B.C. The book of Exodus contains the story of the Israelites’ bondage in Eqypt, the raising of Moses as their leader, the confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh, the release of the people of Israel, their tortured journey toward the Promised Land, the giving of the law of God to His people, and the construction of the tabernacle. Familiar stories found in Exodus include the birth of Moses, his confrontation with God in the burning bush, the ten plagues against Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, the giving of the Ten Commandments, and the construction of the Ark of the Covenant.
