my question is..
why is it that some christians diss the other versions of the bible? They insist on the King James Version being the best. the closet to the original. I am a young man and I struggle at times with the wording of the King James, but find the more moderen versions easier to understand. Are these different versions of the Bible watering down Gods word?

Great questions! The Old Testament language is primarily that of Aramaic and Hebrew. The New Testament language is primarily that of Greek. The fact is Christians have as many opinions as non-Christians. I myself refer to a variety of Bible translations, concordances, and other Biblical study materials. I mainly teach from the New Living Translation (NLT). The bottom-line is that we should always confer with God as we press into learning all that we can about His character, and His will and purpose for our lives. Bible reading without prayer equals a “watered-down” (far distant) relationship with our heavenly Father God, our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. In other words, God’s Word and our prayers work in unison if we are to fully grow to full spiritual maturity. Make the first part of your everyday a time for reading God’s Word along with prayer for the purposes of thanksgiving (praise and worship to God), intercession (praying for others), confession (for His forgiveness of our sins), healing, and for the growth of His kingdom.
